The John Henry was first released in 1988. It was sculpted by Jeanne Mellin Herrick. It is Breyer mold #445. It is Traditional sized.

Breyer initially produced the mold using the almost finished protype with a rough coat (much to the artists chagrin). The finished mold was cast and went in to production in 2003.
