I am a professor/psychologist who writes plays. My plays have appeared all over the United States and abroad. They are basically dramatic romantic character driven comedies with much humor and poignancy. They capture the heart as well as the mind. Many of my plays have a strong Jewish ethnic focus.
I’ve written a number of full length, one act, and short plays. One full length play, Chaim’s Love Song, ran off-Broadway for over 200 performances (1998-1999). Since then, it has run consistently in the United States, Canada, England and is coming to Australia in 2008. It is published by Samuel French, #4964. Click here to see Chaim’s Love Song preview
Another of my plays, Kafka’s Kastle Kareer, was successfully performed by the Company of Angels to excellent reviews. It starred Marion Ross (from Happy Days and Brooklyn Bridge). It is a dark edgy fantasy comedy about the life and work of Franz Kafka. Marion Ross also starred in Waking Charlotte Levy. It is a romantic comedy about a middle-aged English professor and a middle-aged social worker falling in love.
Other full length plays available are: The Howie Chronicles and A Pincus Senior Center Affair to Remember.
I was born in Brooklyn and grew up as a first generation American in a small upstate New York town. I’ve been a professor of counseling psychology at Indiana University and California State University, as well as a psychotherapist in private practice.
